Cut&Paste is a digital design tournament that spans 16 cities and contains three
competitions (2D, 3D and Motion Graphics). Competitors from all over the world compete
to win a grand prize in their respective categories.
The competition came to the Windy City on April 4th, and a few Desert Rose Design
team members decided to hang out together to check out this year’s competition.
In the 2D design category, eight graphic designers and illustrators went head to
head in two 15-minute rounds, designing everything from scratch.
Four competitors, made up of industrial, character and concept designers, battled
it out in two 20-minute rounds for the 3D competition.
The Motion Design contest started before the doors opened, with competitors receiving
eight hours to complete their work.
Winners from the Chicago competition go head to head with winners from other cities
in a national championship held in New York City. Maybe you’ll see a few of our
designers in the competition next year…
