Position: Production Artist

Candidate will work closely with other Senior Designers to put conceptualized ideas into a tangible form. In this design production position, you'll play a pivotal role in catalog layout, various graphic design spec sheets, flowing copy into layouts and cleaning up files in preparation for vendors. If you have a passion for design production and can work closely with a team, then there's no reason to pass up this great opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Combine illustrations, text, product data, photos, and graphics as needed
  • Work with design team to define and produce product image collections in both printed and electronic formats
  • Understand and follow standards for document structure and layout
  • Provide categorical support to designers (Product and Graphic)
  • Assist with assembly, production, maintenance and organization of seasonal presentation materials
  • Some possible client contact for proofing and follow up, etc.

Requirements:

  • Must have solid skills in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to take direction from other Senior Designers and follow through with their ideas
  • A solid sense of design and typography is a must
  • Good verbal communication skills and able to prioritize projects and workload to meet deadlines

Position: Web Developer / Designer

Experience: 2 plus years required

We're looking for a competent web developer who has advanced knowledge of widgets, APIs and Web 2.0 standards. This job will also require knowledge of Adobe CS3 and content management systems.

Required Technology:

  • Must be proficient in the following development tools: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator
  • Must be proficient in multimedia applications, database interactions, data modeling tools and internet protocols.
  • Strong Internet technology and eBusiness implementation and integration experience.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming, eCommerce development, knowledge of IIS5, IIS6 and MS Windows Based servers.
  • Strong experience in writing Active Server Page (ASP).
  • Strong experience DHTML skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Actionscript, etc.)
  • Strong experience .NET ASP/ASP.NET C# / Visual Basic 6.0 (a plus).
  • Experience with web scripting languages (e.g., AJAX, VBScript, JavaScript, XML).
  • Understanding of object oriented development.
  • Experience in optimizing pages and images for the web to work with all platforms and browsers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain client Web Sites and Web Applications using mainly ASP, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Manage ODBC and OleDB in a Windows 2003 / IIS / ODBC environment.
  • Maintain, change and update existing websites / databases, create and test new ones as needed.
  • Manage technical aspects of our site and client sites and databases.
  • Manage dedicated server.
  • Design, develop, and test user interface, backend processes, and Intranet.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent web application development skills, Multi-layer experience.
  • Ability to think creatively and suggest alternative web site design/development solutions.
  • Ability to complete projects on a timely basis with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with others as a team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong understanding of Web and Graphics Design.

Position: Web/Multimedia Design Intern

The Web/Multimedia Design Intern is responsible for creating and updating visually appealing web sites and banner ads for Desert Rose Design and their customers. The Intern will use programs such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and InDesign to work with existing graphic files or to original graphics and layouts as needed. Will design original graphics for client websites to include: Flash and/or animated banner ads, HTML emails, Flash animations, website development, PowerPoint Slide templates, interactive presentations, and streaming videos. The Intern shares the responsibility of producing these materials within set deadlines. A high standard of quality and ability to think creatively are a must. Assume other duties as assigned.
